Welcome to

3rd and 4th Class

In term one 3 rd and 4 th class have been to Ballincollig Regional Park for orienteering, competed in
hurling and football blitzes and have had students represent our school in cross-country running. We
celebrated science week by making lava lamps, creating ‘crazy scientists’, learning about food and
farming, and learning how cheese is made, from scientists at Moorepark. National tree day ignited
our appreciation of the nature around us with the help of two of our 3 rd class students fundraising
for our school garden.
In class we have wrote letters to David Walliams, learned to multiply for the first time and created
graphs to consider how we can save energy in our homes. We have enjoyed learning to speak
Spanish, while continuing to learn a cúpla focal through reading, writing and exciting games.
We have explored and researched some of the continents and countries involved in the World Cup
and cheered-on our own local football and camogie teams with creating supportive displays and
banners.
We began the term by looking back at the summer gone by and now bring the term to an end as we
look forward to our carol service in the church, our mini toy-show in class and learning about the
ways Christmas is celebrated around the world.
